I write this letter to give my high appreciation to Mr. Tim Duncan, a teacher of my son in third grade. My son tells me and my wife how Mr. Tim Duncan motivates and encourages, inspiring him to work harder and smarter to be the best and to be the leader. To have high motivation in study, in my opinion, is very important for my son, and also for other students in general. Mr. Tim Duncan is successful in this effort.
My wife and I feel comfortable as well with the way Mr. Tim Duncan keeps relations between parents and teacher. We, as parents regularly discuss about A-Z issues related to the problems and challenges faced by my son in school.
Hopefully, my son will meet the teachers as qualified as Mr. Tim Duncan in his next grades.

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Tim Duncan who has taught my son in year 3 at NJIS. My son had some behavioral problems in his earlier grades that retarded his scholastic advancement; these also caused us some problems with deciding where his future schooling would be. He has however shown a marked improvement over the last 12 months under Mr. Duncan’s guidance with a general improvement in both his grades and behavior. The change in his performance I believe is a direct result of Mr. Duncan’s ability to both understand and guide our son using positive reinforcement and encouragement in a way that suited his individual needs.
We have enjoyed the parent/teacher meetings with Mr. Duncan where an honest appraisal of our son’s progress was provided and suggestions as to ways we might assist him further were offered. I wish Mr. Duncan every success with his future in the educational system, from our experience with him I would offer an unreserved recommendation of his performance.

I am pleased to write this reference letter for Mr. Timothy S. Duncan for his teaching work. I have seen Mr. Duncan for a year as a parent of a student from Indonesia at North Jakarta International School (NJIS) in Jakarta. In just a year, I have been aware that he was a very friendly and truly kind teacher to his students so that my son feels comfortable, can focus on studying, and enjoys the school life in his class.
My son has become quite a good reader mainly due to Mr. Duncan’s influence and the way he structures his reading classes. I feel that Mr. Duncan has a passion and heart for children.
In the international school like NJIS, I believe that Mr. Duncan was always trying to be fair and give a chance to all students equally in all activities. As a result of that, his students, including my son, participated more in all activities and developed their abilities at school.
I, as a parent of a student, appreciate so much all of Mr. Duncan’s efforts this year in my son’s Grade 3 class! I wish this reference letter could serve as a useful reference point for him in the field of education in the future.

With this letter of reference for Mr. Timothy Duncan, I would like to highlight his professionalism as a teacher especially in teaching my children at North Jakarta International School (NJIS). My son, during his school year in Mr. Duncan’s class of Grade 3, showed very significant progress in his ability to be an independent and confident student with satisfying proficiency in using technology in the learning process such as using the internet to help his research, MS Word to edit and publish his writings, and also to more organized so he can take care of his data in his own USB and be responsible to meet each lesson’s target and project time frame on time.
I am really pleased with Mr. Duncan’s professionalism in doing his job as a nurturing as well as strict teacher and mentor for my children during their good days and bad days at school. My first experience with Mr. Duncan was when my daughter was in a very big doubt whether to go into Grade 1 from Kindergarten. As I joined her to Mr. Duncan’s NJIS Summer School class to build her self-confidence which the result was really beyond my expectation where my daughter really gained her self-confidence effectively as well as mine. Mr. Duncan was also very welcoming in discussing my doubts too.
In my opinion, Mr. Duncan’s teaching methods and strategies are designed and executed for high end learning results, and he is a really effective motivator for his students to be able to achieve their goal effectively and efficiently without making them feel forced. My son, who is a very easy going boy with a lack of care to his surroundings and responsibilities, can now show a very good improvement in managing his daily routine and discipline on Mr. Duncan’s guidance.

We have two daughters in NJIS (North Jakarta International School) that were taught by Mr. Timothy Stanley Duncan. We are very pleased to prepare this reference letter as recommendation for Mr. Duncan’s credibility as on of the greatest teachers that we have even had for our children. During his dedication for classes of our children, Mr. Duncan has always been supportive and thoughtful of the students’ needs. We heard so many good things about him and many students adore him so much.
The way that Mr. Duncan teaches the students is very effective and methodological. He uses technology in delivering the knowledge of using the internet for students, helping students to become proficient in independently using Microsoft Word to edit and publish their writing, as well as helping students to become proficient in organizing data files, electronically submitting assignments and responsibly taking care of their data and USB’s.
Along the way, Mr. Duncan also helps students to improve their reading comprehension, understanding math as a language, and process, becoming independent and confident learners, becoming caring leaders and positive team players, introducing the importance of family and the job of students to be a good son or daughter, and last but not least, creating a joyful environment in the class during their school days. We have never received any complaint regarding Mr. Duncan from our daughters.
We believe that Mr. Duncan has become a value added for NJIS with his presence and we are very grateful that our children had the opportunity to be taught by such a great teacher. His way of teaching and the values that were given by him to the mind of our children will surely be remembered for long.
We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for Mr. Duncan and hopefully this recommendation letter will be useful for his future career. We would strongly recommend him for his future endeavor wherever he will be.

“It is a supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” – Albert Einstein
Mr. Timothy Stanley Duncan has been my child’s teacher from Grade 2 till this current academic year 2006-2007 having taught all lower school subjects. My child enjoyed and learned a lot from him and she always shares her learning experiences at school every time she goes home. As a parent, I am happy to see my child being guided and nurtured positive dispositions toward learning and this is because of her teacher’s love, care, motivation, and encouragement.
As a teacher, Mr. Duncan’s methods and strategies in teaching have been very effective in imparting knowledge to all his students. He uses innovative ideas especially identifying strengths and potential problems and difficulties which help his students holistically. I am so pleased with his way of establishing a good, warm, and inviting classroom climate, which affects children’s attitude and motivation towards learning. He is very sincere and dedicated to his work. He loves teaching and children. He chooses and designs resources for the children to grasp the concepts easily. He plans his lessons well and always establishes an open communication with the parents. His overall performance is commendable as I can see the improvement in my child.
In this regard, I would like to recommend Mr. Duncan not only as a good teacher but as a good person as well as I had a lot of interactions with him regarding my daughter’s progress during parent-teacher conferences. I hope that this recommendation will serve as a useful reference point for him in the field of education.

I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Timothy Stanley Duncan for his teaching and counseling work. Timothy was a teacher at North Jakarta International School (NJIS) where he taught and guided my daughter.
Timothy was a very supportive and a very perceptive teacher. His strongest point was that he loved children and was willingly worked with them patiently. My daughter was one of his students. She had some psychological problems involving her babysitter at home. Timothy willingly helped her to feel comfortable at school and provided the necessary assistance to the child in those certain subjects. Timothy also helped my daughter to overcome the stress of the absence of her babysitter.
All and all, I think Timothy Stanley Duncan is a very good teacher. He is eager to know and to assist his students. He knows when to be lenient and when to be hard with the children. He has the arts of handling children and that pleases me as a parent.
